Susinchain: the end of an era

Susinchain: the end of an era

For 4 years, the H2020 Susinchain was a key insect project in Europe with dozens of partners all over the old continent. The aim of this project was to contribute to novel protein provision for feed and food in Europe by overcoming the remaining barriers for increasing the economic viability of the insect value chain.

On the 27th of September 2023, it all came to an end. During the final presentations at the symposium (attended by more than 100 people) it was clear that this project was very successful. With plenty of open access publications and deliverables from a roadmap and policy recommendations to rearing improvements to safety for feed and food and everything in between.

The project was also an excellent example of the possibilities of synergistic collaboration between research institutes and research and industry. Combining the expertise of all the partners did make sure the most was made from the 4 year project.

All papers and deliverables (many include unpublished data) can be found on the website: www.susinchain.eu
