    Hi all,

We are having some issues with (a lot of) mealmoths. I was wondering who else has the same problem or even more importantly, who had it in the past and got rid of them. We have tried several things from vacuuming, biocontrol with wasps and feromones but we do not seem to get them under control all the time.

    Any suggestions?

Indeed, few of the solutions you propose are effective. Perhaps we should act as in other livestock species and use “all in all out” systems that allow us to fumigate the rooms before being occupied again.

On the other hand, it is very important to control the fresh raw materials that we use in Tenebrio diets. Obtain them at the exit of the agro-industrial process (before they are contaminated by other insects) and keep them in insect-free spaces until they are used.

We have them in our rearing with mealworms from another company and, unfortunatly, do not have the space to put them in quarantine for a certain time… Up to know we never had them comming with our feedstock.
